Legal Paternity Tests - Some laboratories go through great lengths to inflate both the cost and explanation of what exactly is a legal paternity test. Essentially, the Non-Legal Paternity Tests and Legal Paternity Tests are in every way the same test, except that a legal paternity test must meet certain identification criteria as set forth by the courts. Grandparent DNA Testing - When the father of a child is not available for testing, the Grandparents can be tested. This test is possible because if the grandparents are the biological parents of the biological father of the child, then they possess the same paternal genetic markers of the child in question. About Our Genetic Testing Laboratory At The New Mexico State University

Although our DNA paternity tests are priced to be among the cheapest on the planet, make no mistake about the quality. Our laboratory is on the campus of The New Mexico State University, located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. We perform 1000's of DNA human identity tests using the Most advanced technology and discriminating tests available.  By using this advanced technology, we save you the consumer money. 

We are accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) as a Parentage Testing Laboratory, and as such, all accredited parentage tests are performed according to AABB standards. All tests are supervised and results reviewed by Ph. D. scientists on our staff. We use the latest DNA-based technology with state-of-the-art robotic equipment. While many other labs use only 5 or 9 genetic markers, we use 16, which is sometimes referred to as a “premium test.” This is the Most powerful standard test done in the industry exceeding the standards used by the FBI for human identification requiring that only 13 genetic markers be analyzed.

Our premium 16 genetic marker paternity tests analyze the same 13 markers used by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies for human DNA identity testing, plus an additional 3 markers. These first 13 markers are referred to as the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). All of these markers are used only in the determination of human identity. They in no way reveal any other genetic information about the tested individuals, such as predisposition to certain medical problems. Therefore, you should have no apprehension that the results can be used for any purpose other than establishing family relationships.

Because of the speed of our equipment, paternity tests are completed in 3-5 workdays (or less) if needed.  This technology uses the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, which has replaced the earlier restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) technique because it is faster, more accurate, and can be used with very small samples of DNA.
